JEANNE PFEFFER - DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Jeanne Pfeffer grew up dancing, earned degrees in dance and sociology from Beloit College (WI). From 2006-2008 she worked seasonally with the American Dance Festival (ADF) where she gained exposure to a vast array of high-level and international dance artists and professionals. In 2009 she relocated from her hometown of Edina, MN to the Bay Area, CA and began working with Charles Slender (now Slender-White) to launch the dance company FACT/SF. In the five years she managed the company, FACT/SF became an established dance voice in the region and toured across Russia as representatives of American contemporary dance. During this time Jeanne also worked as Program Director for Jess Curtis/Gravity, overseeing domestic projects and international collaborations. In 2014 Jeanne began working with CounterPulse as Development Manager at the launch of their $7 million capital campaign to buy a building in San Francisco.

During her five years with CounterPulse she transitioned from Development Manager to Development Director, and then Director of Producing and Advancement, adding more curatorial responsibilities to her role. During her years at CounterPulse, Jeanne was able to return to her movement research practice and present two solo works as part of group showings at PianoFight Theater in SF. In 2019 Jeanne left CounterPulse to pursue independent art and consulting projects. As a consultant she works with artists and organizations of all sizes, specializing in development and production. She is an avid dance patron and currently serves as president of the board for FACT/SF. Outside her life in dance, Jeanne writes and reads fiction, cooks, climbs, and spends time with her family in San Leandro, CA.
